Does mri test of the lumbar spine always show a reason for sciatica nerve pain in back and leg?

I recently had a mri on the lumbar spine to find the cause of my sciatica nerve pain which is cauaing lowere back and leg pain. there was no dics pinching the nerve. everything seemed to be ok..IS there other causes not shown on the mri test.
